Mother Dough Bakery is a halal bakery that’s been around since 2017, known for breads and pastries that are both innovative and genuinely delicious.
If you’re in the Bugis area, it’s a place you absolutely cannot skip.
Their bakes are made fresh daily and they rotate their menu regularly, so one visit is not enough.
They are most famous for their signature almond croissant (easily top 3 in Singapore, in my opinion).
What We Tried
On our most recent visit, we got the chocolate Jaffa tart, the spicy beef Parmesan quiche, and the chicken Caesar sandwich with avocado. For drinks, we went with the iced chai latte and the seasonal iced tea.
The chocolate tart was the star of the show: dark chocolate and orange ganache topped with orange curd and salted whipped cream. Not too sweet, and the citrus gives it this bright, exciting tanginess.
Though not pictured here, we also recommend their malted milk chocolate cereal cookies. They’re thick, chewy, and packed with cornflakes and chocolate.
The Space
Head up to the second floor and you’ll find vintage pieces on display, which are also available for purchase.
The wooden, minimalist interior gives the whole place a warm, rustic ambience.
If you’re not up for making the trip, they do deliveries too. But the online menu is a smaller selection, so we still recommend visiting in person for the full experience.
