Two weekends, one massive hall, and more food than any one person should attempt. Artbox has been on my radar for a while, but this was my first time actually going. After hearing about it every year, I wasn’t sure if it would live up to the hype.

1. Food

Credits: Artbox Singapore

With over 60 F&B stalls, I was spoilt for choice. To my pleasant surprise, Haus Coffee had a stall right in the corner. I’ve been addicted to their banana pudding matcha since it first went viral, so spotting them here felt like fate.

The Banana Pudding Matcha ($9.50) is just as good as I remembered. The pudding adds just enough sweetness to balance out the earthiness of the matcha.

They also launched a new item: the Dubai Strawberry Pistachio Kunafa ($10). Very of-the-moment given the whole Dubai chocolate hype. A must-try for those with a sweet tooth.

2. Art

Beyond food, the art section is worth slowing down for. I mean, what is ARTbox without ART? The booths offer art that ranges from cute character prints to more conceptual pieces.

I picked up a print by Bangkok-based illustrator Ping Sasinan for $5. So worth it.

3. Activities

There’s more to do here than just eat and shop.

The pickleball courts were unexpected and fun to watch even if you’re not playing.

Spontaneously, I got a jagua tattoo done by Vinterdoodle (@vinterdoodle). She also does permanent tattoos, so you know you’re in good hands.

The tooth gems booth (@toothgemssg) was hard to walk past. Two gems for $60, done in ten minutes. A fun little way to brighten up your smile.

And then there’s Jelly Caricature, a cute alternative to the typical photobooth. You drop a coin into what looks like a photobooth, knock twice, and someone inside draws you. A few minutes later, your portrait slides out like a print.

Pro tip: If the crowds and energy start to feel overwhelming, swing by the Beauty in the Air by The Shilla Duty Free booth for a free hand massage. It’s a quick reset and one of the most unexpectedly calming parts of the whole experience.

Overall, Artbox is something you have to explore on your own to discover what you like. There’s quite a lot to discover, and something for everyone. So yes, worth the hype.
