This cafe in Chinatown is perfect for a work-from-home day. They tick all the boxes: free WiFi, power plugs available, delicious pastries and drinks, and spacious tables. Bonus: a photo booth.

The Space

The tables are wide enough to fit two laptops if you’re co-working with a friend. WiFi is free and reliable, and there are power sockets available to charge your laptop, though the number is limited.

The space gives off a trendy and youthful vibe, with shelves lined with vinyls like Paramore’s Riot! and Drake’s If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late. When we visited, the playlist leaned indie-R&B, featuring artists such as Mac Miller and Daniel Caesar.

The “cool without trying too hard” atmosphere makes it easier to settle in and get into work mode.

When you need a break from your screen, the in-house photo booth is a cute way to reset.

There is a minimum spend of $10 to use it, and every $10 gets you one session. Each session prints two strips with three photos, and you can email yourself the soft copy video and images. Super worth it.

Food & Drinks

The food is pretty classic cafe fare: croissants, brownies, banana bread. What sets them apart is their focaccia sandwiches and creative matcha drinks.

Honey cloud ice matcha ($8.50) is a must-try. The whipped honey salted cream pairs wonderfully with the matcha.

The chicken pesto focaccia ($12.90) is made with pesto spread, smoked chicken ham, sliced tomatoes, topped with maple syrup and rocket leaves. You can never go wrong with a focaccia sandwich.

The brown sugar banana bread ($6) was our favourite. It is toasted until the edges are slightly crisp, with real banana chunks inside.

Pistachio matcha-misu ($9.50) and acai matcha ($8.50) are two of their more interesting matcha options if you want something different.

Don’t worry if you’re not into matcha; their coffee and tea selection is equally enticing. You’ll just have to drop by to check it out. 😉
